PRESS NOTE

BATAY OUVRIYE protests with vehemence against the brutal acts of the American army on the offices of TÈT KOLE TI PEYIZAN (“Small Peasants Unity”) and ANTÈN OUVRIYÈ (“Workers’ Antenna”) on Friday April 23rd, 2004. We are seizing this opportunity to convey our SOLIDARITY to these organizations amidst the persecutions, thefts and exactions they are undergoing.

BATAY OUVRIYE wishes to note the GOVERNMENT’S SILENCE before these illegal and heavy-handed situations. We want to note how, in effect, these people haven’t come to help but rather to ORDER AND COMMAND, how the national government has absolutely no control, not to mention, power, on their acts. All of this proves us again how the COUNTRY IS UNDER OCCUPATION - PROCTECTORATE - TUTELLE!

This action is but a beginning! And, the more worrisome and revolting, is that, given the relations established, THERE IS NO POSSIBLE RECOURSE AGAINST THEM!

Finally, this show us not only how the OCCUPATION IS NOT IN THE INTEREST OF WORKERS AND SMALL PEASANTS, but, furthermore, how, within this occupation, it is with VIOLENCE, they are proceeding to TRAMPLE OVER THE WORKERS’ DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS.

THE BATTLE HAS JUST BEGUN!

LET’S ENTER IT WITH BOTH FEET SOLIDLY!
